Is it possible to CONTROL DREAMS- ours' or other people's? Has this any practical application? Is it Biblical?

The Human brain is said to be a supercomputer surpassing any made to date. If this is so, DREAMS must be simulations of possible Realities- if at least only imaginable Reality. If one person can dream something up, another person could dream the same thing.

A Mathematician might express it as an algorithm or some sort.

An artist could express it as art. An engineer could build it.

There might even be money in it, or something.

Is it not possible that we have a lot of computing time that is just allowed to go to waste, or is dreaming something impossible to control, and useless to even try?Is it possible to CONTROL DREAMS- ours' or other people's? Has this any practical application? Is it Biblical?
A long time ago I became aware of when I was in a dream state. I also became aware that if I didn't like what was going on in that state, that I could break the dream by simply opening my eyes.

After a while, I could set up a scenario and let it play out, to see what the people (in the dream would do). I've found it beneficial when I am working on a novel and am looking for an answer to a ';what if?'; scenario.

Whenever, I place myself in my own dream, my conscious state appears to take over and unless I've been in the location that I place myself, nothing happens (no experience to draw upon).

I cannot control the dreams of another.

One may ask, how did my control start? It started when I heard a person talking about getting to sleep. That if we clear our mind and make it a blank slate (not thinking about any _thing_), that nature, which abhors a vacuum, will soon start filling it with an image and that if we want to sleep, we need to concentrate on the image that our mind paints. As I practiced this on the occasions that required it, I slowly became aware that I could do more than just blank my mind, but set up fantasy situations--in this case, as a big original series Star Trek fan, I set up the situation of me on the bridge of the Enterprise and let it play out (It didn't work very well; Kirk would always call for security and have me escorted to sickbay where some nondescript duty nurse or doctor would examine me and then I'd be dropped off at the nearest starbase). Obviously, I remember what I dream if I consider it of value.

There is nothing Biblical or religious about my dreams, even though I consider myself religious. Nor do I read anything into them, since they are products of my imagination. Is it possible to CONTROL DREAMS- ours' or other people's? Has this any practical application? Is it Biblical?
Yes; Its called Lucid dreaming, or Conscious dreaming.

A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that they are dreaming while the dream is in progress, also known as a conscious dream. When the dreamer is lucid, they can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream
It is possible to control your own dreams. As others state you must first understand that you are dreaming and from there you can have some control over the dream.

I've done it on a number of times and I'll tell you this, you can't say ';I want to dream about having an orgy with hotties'; and it happens. Instead whatever you are dreaming about you become able to change or manipulate aspects of it. For example you can make things appear and in other rooms or locations in your dream.

It is actually pretty cool to do.
Yes, it is possible to control dreams with practice. Its called lucid dreaming, as dreaming is really the subconscious expression of the mind, it is never too far from control.

The idea that the brain shuts down when sleeping is false, it is very much active.
Lucid dreamers can control their own dreams, but no one can really control dreams as they are as uncontrollable as human thought. You could try applying certain stimuli before sleep, but it won't necessarily effect the persons dreams. And most people forget their dreams when they wake up anyway if they dream at all, so why bother.
no we can not only god could give us a special dream if he chooses.
I am amazed that THIS question got answers in R %26amp; S from people who know what they're talking about!

Has anyone read CARLOS CASTANEDA'S books on Dreaming?
