Can i use advantage flea control on both my dog and cat, or do I need to buy 2 different applications?

You need to buy two separate applications for cats and dogs... You can buy them at WalMart.. They are about 4-5 bucks.. Don't use the cat's on the dog - it wont be strong enough to work.. Dont use the dog's on the cat, it will have an overdose and start shaking.

Unfortunately, my kittens were right on the borderline of the age to have it put on them.. They were shaking and i had to give them a bath to get it off of them. :( They weren't used to the med.Can i use advantage flea control on both my dog and cat, or do I need to buy 2 different applications?
if it says on the bottle or whatever, cats and dogs u can use it on both. Other wise ask a vet it dont cost any thing to ask. hope this helpsCan i use advantage flea control on both my dog and cat, or do I need to buy 2 different applications?
Pharmacologically - it's the same drug, same strength - just different doses based on only weight. Just measure very carefully.
adnantage for dogs and cats are both the same thing except for dosage. you can buy a 4 ml. tube of advantage and have 4 treatments for your cats, cats over six months old take a dose of 9/10 of 1 cc. if this med. is for your cat you will need to get a 1 CC seringe, your vet should give you one, the scale on the seringe goes from .10-.20-.30-.40 .50 .60 .70 ,80 .90 and finally 1.0 which is one cc. take the seringe ( without the needle) stick it in the top of the advantage tube make sure it slips into the top of the tube you will have to really press hard to get it in, once its tightly in turn the tube towards the celing so it is upside down and draw our .90 or 9/10 of one cc, you are now ready to treat one cat. If you have more then one kittie just duplicate the procedure. Try to be careful not to get any solution on the numbers it will remove them to where it will become unreadable. as far as the dog is concerned you should get him a tube of his own, this will eliminate any possibility of making an error.
2 different applications- one can kill the other! Make sure you read the insert for how much to use, and how to use it.
dosent matter
i do . you have to use a smaller amount on cats.
you need two separate applications!
They're two different things, not to mention it goes by size. I use lemon Joy to bathe my pets--it kills fleas. The flea stuff you buy at Walmart isn't as good as the stuff you get at the vets. Read the label, follow directions.
Depending on how big your dog is - you probably need to buy 2 different applications, 1 for the cat, 1 for the dog - unless the package says it can be used on cats and small dogs up to a certain weight. Otherwise the wrong dose could be too much for the cat and/or ineffective for the dog. Be very careful - watch both animals for a good 24 hours afterwards to monitor for any strange behaviors /adverse reactions. One time, less than 24 hours of putting a flea medication on one of my cats, she spiked a fever of 102 and had a neurological/allergic reaction to it, that led to her being admitted to the Emergency Animal Hospital. In my opinion, Frontline meds. are the best...
overdose and start shaking? wow looks like this gal has tried it before, LOL!! But yea go get separate medications man you don't wanna hurt your kitty and puppy.
